The last month or so has been busy for bull sales, with a number of Shorthorn bulls heading away to all parts of the country.
Notably Fearn Hornblower, a son of the homebred sire Fearn Elmer, sold to the Drayton Farm Partnership at Petersfield, Hampshire, for use in their pedigree herd. This striking young bull is out of Fearn Fearn Suzette Z539, a Glenisla Tam daughter, and has a TI of +19 and an SRI of +18.
Then getting away to Orkney to join Gary Byers’ commercial herd was Fearn Hamish, another by Elmer. He’s out of Fearn Fi Fi Suzette F1094, a Meonhill Highland Captain daughter and has a TI of +20 and an SRI of +16.
A number of other Elmer sons have also been sold commercially in recent weeks, with this homebred bull producing a strong crop of bulls which have caught buyers’ eyes.
