Renewables

A recent addition to the portfolio of enterprises at Fearn Farm is a brace of 20kw wind turbines which were erected in 2013.

Power from the turbines is sold to power a local potato store, with excess power sold in to the national grid.

Payback on the investment in the turbines is scheduled to take 6-7 years and further renewable energy enterprises, including solar and biomass power options for the steading and houses on the farm are always under investigation.
