Four GENERATIONS OF FARMING PEDIGREE

HOW CAN WE HELP

Welcome to Fearn Farm

The Scott Family have been farming at Fearn Farm, a low lying farm based on the Tarbat Peninsula, Easter Ross, for four generations, with the next generation already making their mark on the farm!

The farm ranges from light soils through to heavy soils which grows cereals, forage crops and grass for our Pedigree and Commercial Cattle & Sheep and our Arable Enterprise. Our cropping consists of malting spring barley, winter wheat, spring oats, peas, fodder beet, swedes, kale and stubble turnips, with the forage crops playing a vital role in how we winter our livestock.

The management of the farm is largely undertaken by John and Fiona Scott, who farm in partnership with Johns parents, Janet and James, Under the J Scott & Partners Banner. In recent years the farm has increased in size with 466 ha owned at Fearn Farm itself and 560 ha rented across Easter Ross and Sutherland.

John and Fiona also run Scott Farming Ltd which is made up of 50 head of Pedigree Luing Cattle to produce breeding stock along with native bred finishing cattle.

Over recent years the farm has ventured into other enterprises including ‘The Mill at Fearn Farm’ which opened in March 2020 and a Beef Box Scheme.

If you would like any more information on any of our enterprises please do not hesitate to contact us.
